Avéli® Cellulite Reduction & Body Contouring in Setauket, NY

Cellulite and contour irregularities are incredibly common—but they don’t have to define your confidence. At NectarineMD, we offer Avéli®, an FDA-cleared, minimally invasive cellulite reduction treatment that addresses the root structural cause of dimpling, while also fitting seamlessly into your body contouring and aesthetic rejuvenation plan.

Performed in just one session, Avéli® targets the fibrous bands beneath the skin that cause uneven texture, delivering smoother, firmer skin that lasts. It’s a natural complement to other body contouring treatments like biostimulators (e.g., Radiesse®), microneedling with RF, peptide therapy, and lifestyle-driven wellness protocols.

What Is

Avéli® Cellulite Reduction?

Avéli® is a minimally invasive cellulite treatment designed to release the tight fibrous septa that pull on the skin and create the signature dimples of structural cellulite. By physically releasing these tethers, Avéli® smooths the skin from the inside out—delivering targeted, permanent improvement after just one treatment.

While Avéli® addresses the texture and dimpling component of body appearance, it’s also an important part of a “holistic” body contouring plan at NectarineMD. Our comprehensive approach includes:

  • Regenerative injections to enhance skin quality and elasticity (e.g., dilute Radiesse® for skin firming)
  • Biostimulation with hyperdilute Radiesse for a natural enhancement of the gluteus for a natural BBL that develops gradually for a subtle but significant improved silhouette with improved lift, projection and roundness.
  • RF microneedling to tighten laxity and remodel tissue
  • Peptides and hormone optimization to support metabolism, skin tone, and fat distribution
  • Lifestyle Medicine counseling for long-term skin and body wellness

Together, these treatments offer a customized, layered approach to smoothing, firming, and reshaping your figure naturally.

How Aveli works:

Cellulite can affect people of all shapes and sizes. Maintaining ideal body weight and muscle mass can help reduce the appearance of cellulite, but it will not eradicate it. Several factors influence the likelihood of developing cellulite including hormonal factors like estrogen, thyroid and insulin levels, in addition to genetic factors.

Men are less likely to develop cellulite due to differences in estrogen levels compared to women, which affects the structure of the skin and subcutaneous fat relative to muscle. Fibrous bands, called fibrous septa, tether subcutaneous fat the the skin. In men, fibrous septa are arranged in an overlapping, crosshatched pattern, and there’s is generally less subcutanous fat. Women have vertical fibrous septa and more subcutanous fat, causing a pulling effect on the skin resulting in a dimpled appearance.

Weight loss can reduce the overall volume of subcutaneous fat, but it can not address the quality and distribution of the fibrous septa. Aveli® is a minimally invasive procedure that achieves smoother skin by permanently cutting these fibrous septa.

Frequently

Asked Questions

Avéli® is uniquely suited for releasing cellulite-causing bands under the skin. Aveli is unique in that it is minimally invasive and safely targets and permanently cuts the fibrous bands and permanently eradicates cellulite dimples. Aveli pairs well with other body contouring modalities like biostimulators (Radiesse®), microneedling, or peptide-based therapies for enhanced tone, elasticity, and skin quality.

Yes! We frequently pair Avéli® with hyperdiluted Radiesse or PRFM to stimulate collagen, firm skin, and enhance glow across treated areas. Sculptra is an option, but not usually used in the buttocks at NectarineMD due to the cost and quantity of vials being cost prohibitive. Additionally, the type of collagen produced by hyperdilute Radiesse is more closely aligned with the collagen produced by healthy skin, and is therefore the preferred product for body contouring.

The fibrous bands released during Avéli® don’t grow back. However, new dimples may develop with age or hormonal changes. Most patients enjoy many years of smoothing with just one session.

Avéli® targets tethered bands, not skin laxity. If you have loose or crepey skin, we may recommend RF microneedling or regenerative injections to target firmness, stretch marks, or other scars.

Dr. Adams can design a treatment plan that may include Avéli® for dimpling and RF microneedling + PRP/PRFM or topical peptides for texture smoothing and collagen remodeling.

Weight loss can improve the appearance of cellulite, but it will rarely eradicate it. After all, even people with ideal body weight can have cellulite. If you’re in the process of losing weight, you can elect to wait and see how your skin will progress. But it’s also reasonable to treat cellulite anywhere on your journey if it’s something that will boost your self confidence because the risk is low and the boost in confidence from cellulite eradication can be very high.

With cellulite affecting 95% of all women, and only 5% of men, most women are candidates for Aveli. The ideal patient is in overall good health, has visible cellulite when standing upright, and is close to their ideal body weight. Even people with minimal body fat can have cellulite and can make excellent candidates. Moderately overweight patients are also often good candidates, as long as they are in good health.
